Some of the first pages you’ll see in the “Busy Lifestyle Planner” are in place to make sure you start your planning journey off the right way. These designated spaces help you gain focus as you begin the meaningful task of recording your commitments, experiences, and dreams. Considering large-scope ideas, such as your annual vision and big picture, positively contributes to the manner in which you carry out daily work and activities. You’ll approach your busy lifestyle with a renewed sense of energy, purpose, and hope.
My Vision Board
Whenever you’re completing a huge project, you need a diving board―a place from which you leap into the waters of a busy life. The “Busy Lifestyle Planner” provides that launchpad for you. As you return to your planner throughout each day, you can occasionally stop by “My Vision Board” for a page that anchors you in this fast-paced, constantly advancing world. Your vision is a sort of rock you can hold onto; it makes you who you are and keeps you from being swept away by overwhelming to-do lists, work requirements, etc. It also gives you courage to take the plunge!
“My Vision Board” is a page of whitespace you may fill with special quotes, magazine clippings, artwork, doodles, photographs, etc. Personally, I like making a collage of images that inspire me, along with things like song lyrics or proverbs that motivate me to accomplish all that I set out to do. But this is your page. Decorate it wildly, or keep it simple and elegant. It’s up to you: just give yourself a platform. Your vision is your root system. It holds all the seeds that you plant to make your dreams bloom. This is a necessary first step in planning with purpose.
The Big Picture
When you write out your future goals on “The Big Picture” page, you are actually painting a guiding visual in the form of words. You are crafting who you want to become in the eyes of your loved ones, community, coworkers, and yourself. Perhaps your big picture includes travel plans, fitness goals, relationship growth, or monetary savings. Whatever your heart’s desire, write those ideas down. Put them in permanent ink to symbolize their importance to you, or scribble them with pencil to represent the fact that dreams slightly shift or beautifully blossom into something even greater. Once again, it’s up to you.
You might write in a journaling-style, but some years, I have simply listed words on the page. These became “my words” that helped me in dark times when my future looked dim. Sometimes a basic list of character traits, places you’d like to go, items you need for your home, and names of people you hope to love more deeply―all of these can be just as powerful in helping you succeed. Write everything down at once, or keep coming back and adding to your picture. Most importantly, take this essential first step in assuring “The Big Picture” becomes “The Big Reality.”
It’s Official!
There’s something about putting it all on paper that makes it official―something about signing your name at the bottom of a personal statement for your life that makes everything real. “My Vision Board” and “The Big Picture” are your planner’s foundational elements. Pages like these keep busy women focused on a life full of adventure, wonder, appreciation, and love.
